I haven't posted here in a long time. ...Traddy,
I haven't posted here in a long time. We've been busy. Last year after Easter, our family left the Diocese of Scranton for the SSPX. Spiritually speaking, it was one of the best decisions we ever made. I can not begin to tell you the graces our family has received. As for confessions, we have them. Every Sunday before Mass. Sometimes Mass has been delayed 15 minutes because Father has finished with confessions yet! No one complains. Not once, in confession, have I been dismissed or rushed along. Not once has a priest suggested that my sin is "not really sin" or has said "let's talk about your family." Our time their has led us, all by the direction of our priest, to go to confession frequently, to pray the rosary daily, be diligent in our morning and evening prayers, turn off the television, read about the saints, increase our devotion to Our Blessed Mother, live modestly and piously, etc. While we were reluctant to assist at Mass there, our lives have changed abundantly. I'm not asking for kudos or awards. I just wanted to tell you, that for a family who was tired of the abuses and had no options, the SSPX has been a blessing.CatholicMomof7noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1336117984422102655.post-69829599743587320142010-10-07T09:34:14.267-04:002010-10-07T09:34:14.267-04:00Chad,

Many priests today seem to never have been taught this. If you asked a priest today what his chief duty was to his parish, he would undoubtedly say something about keeping the parish financially stable.

The Church is very much in a crisis situation, the Holy Father knows it, and he has moved to address some of the issues. The Church will supply what is needed for the salvation of souls, even if some parishes and priests will not. And God will provide.

And during this particular crisis, he has supplied well-formed Catholics with the SSPX option. Do not hesitate to make use of it, and to thank God for it.

God bless! The Rockin' Traddyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13655979831127314413noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1336117984422102655.post-27948409145292976242010-10-07T03:23:38.496-04:002010-10-07T03:23:38.496-04:00To be very honest I have never agreed with the SSP...To be very honest I have never agreed with the SSPX on the issue of grave necessity in regards to Confession. Unless they want to argue that Novus Ordo Priests are not valid Priests. Putting aside all discussion of the Mass, absolution is absolution regardless of the language it is granted in. So where is the necessity? There is none. The Confession is illict because the absolution is granted by a suspended Priest. The SSPX has done some good for the Church. Without them the Traditional Mass would have died. But I am sorry I just don't buy some of their arguments.
ChadAnonymousnoreply@blogger.com
