What Do YOU Think?

Is it true that there will be a pro-life commercial during the Super Bowl?

Let me state my position for now and all times. All abortion should be illegal in this country.

Once it is made illegal, it is my belief that any woman who seeks out an illegal abortion and goes through with it should be charged with first degree murder.

That being said, I don't know if the Super Bowl is the proper place to air such a commercial.

To me, the Super Bowl is one of the few moments of escape from the problems that surround us. When I watch the Super Bowl, I can forget for a brief period about hunger, war, and such things. Don't bring them into my football game.

I dunno. Maybe I'm wrong. But I do know that I'd hate to see a pro-death ad during the Super Bowl next year because of a pro-life one this year.

What do you all think?

No, I would not want to see that. Lol. I remember this commercial from 5 or so years ago. It was a pro-"life" commercial. It showed a mother pushing some girl on a tricycle, talking about a woman's right to choose. I didn't understand what pushing a little girl on a bike had to do with promoting abortion. I remember thinking "Oh okay, so if she has the right to CHOOSE, which we ALL do, she can CHOOSE to push that little girl right into the street, and they'd think that was okay, right? It is her right to choose, after all."

Maybe I'm just in a bad mood right now or something, lol. But I did think that. Having the right to 'choose' is a weak argument. Of course we have the right to chose. We all have the ability to chose to kill someone, doesn't make it right.

You know what, I'm an idiot. I read your post wrong. I thought initially you meant a pro-choice commercial during halftime, and the dumb commercial with the tricycle I was talking about was a pro-choice commercial, not pro-life.

haha...well anyway. Shh. ;) I agree though that it seems to be an odd and kind of 'bummer' to put out a pro-life ad during the superbowl. Everyone's so into "omg what crazy kooky ads are they gonna have" and then we gotta get all sad about dying fetuses.

Anyway, I have a stomach bug or something today, that's why I made the mistake and read it wrong...suuuure...

I think you have to go to the commandment of "Thou shall not kill---". This commandment alone takes away the "right of the woman to choose" life or death for her unborn child. Life or death is in Gods' hands only.

Elaine,

So is your answer yes or no to a pro-life Super Bowl ad?

I agree one hundred percent with airing a pro life ad. It is sick that we can enjoy a football GAME when innocent babies are being slaughtered, and we MUST be reminded of that! I don't care if it ruins the game for some folks...it should be ruined.

Yes, show the ad. A good portion of Super Bowl ads have always been about Sex and Beer (both which can lead to Death if not constrained), so why not Life!

And what about equal time? What if Planned Parenthood decides they want to have an ad play during the Super Bowl? Do they have a right to do so? Will you all be upset if they do?

Abortion IS legal, after all.

Does their side of the argument count in our country, or only ours?

Careful how you answer.

Smoking is also legal, and there are no commercials regarding smoking. Drinking alcohol is legal, and we are flooded with commercials about beer. Alcoholism does more damage than you might think. No, Traddy, it might qualify as "equal air time", but planned parenthood promotes the killing of unborn children, and this is a sin. There is enough sin in this world without having to watch or listen to it on the Superbowl.

Planned Parenthood WILL have their ad this year.

Well anonymous, I only allowed your post because you pointed something out I meant to add here.

PP is putting out an ad, but not on the Superbowl. But just wait, soon the airwaves will be filled with ads touting that unborn babies have no rights and should be killed for the convenience of the parent.

Can't wait.

CR, in case you didn't notice, you do not live in a theocracy, and your opinion of what may be 'error' really doesn't matter. It is the law of the land to kill unborn babies at the mother's whim. So what are you going to do about that?
