Where's Waldo?

I saw in the papers last week where our freshly minted Bishop went out to meet the poor and downtrodden at the soup kitchen.

Fine and dandy.

No problems there.

Except that I wish he hadn't made it a photo op.

Not too pleased about that.

Since then, what's he done? Has he been seen?

Anyone know?

Dear Rockin,

This morning at about 6:20 AM while making breakfast for my wonderful husband and watching WBRE in the background, they announced that they would be having a LIVE interview with Bishop Bambera. I was astonished. There was Bishop Bambera giving a live interview to Mark Hiller this morning and answering questions. Here is the URL

I'm keeping an open mind when it comes to Bishop Bambera. He's taking the reins in hand and reaching out. I feel he has a very tough job ahead of him and I'll give him the benefit of the doubt. I feel he answered the questions honestly and is making a genuine effort to be open with the community. He (and the entire Diocese of Scranton) is in my prayers.

Also, I managed not to burn the oatmeal while watching the interview.

Traddy,
Well, I watched the video. I am no completely convinced that either Pope Benedict XVI has abandoned Catholics in the Diocese of Scranton or he is not the Pope that I thought he was. Two things the Bishop said stood out to me: "The average Catholic will continue to experience parish life and celebrate their faith in the same way they always have." and when asked about the numbers of non-Catholics at his Ordination, "We all share a common faith in God. I look forward to working with my colleagues in various faith denominations for the good of humankind." Both of these statements concern me greatly. The first seems to suggest that their is not much hope for an increase in TLM's in our area and that abuses in the Novus Ordo will continue. The second statement reinforces the idea of the first--we are all one faith, we just worship differently. Very disconcerting indeed.

Thanks Mom!

It is disconcerting, SSPX or the Byzantines look better everyday to me around here.
