So, tell me what you think about this Hyundai commercial. I think they are mocking the Church and our traditions. Pay close attention to the Pizza "communion". I'd like to see our spineless American Bishops say something about it. But they are, you know, spineless.
C'mon new Bishop Bambera. You haven't done too much lately. You aren't just going to sit in your big house on the Ave are you? You are going to defend the Church when issues like this arise, right?

I rather like it. It does look ludicrous, but it quite correctly shows how we can take the secular events of our life and make idols of them. And that, is ludicrous.
As Augustine says somewhere, 'God wants to give us something but cannot, because our hands are full -- there's nowhere for him to put it.'
Wh oare you as a mere layman to criticize the Bishop? What do you do for a living? Oh for the days when our Bishops and Priests and faith were actually respected and not trashed as happens so often in our modern society!

You know what, I changed my mind. Non-catholics would probably find the spoof of Catholic ritual as funny as, if not more than the spoof of sports players.
