What's a "Roaming Catholic" to do now??
Smart roaming Catholics wait to see where the Usus Antiquior is to be said and attend Mass there...
Roaming Catholic writes: Hey Rockin' T (and others), what's your opinion about the masses broadcast from the EWTN chapel every morning?
It seems odd to me that they do some of it Latin and some in English. But some Latin is better than no Latin I guess.
They sing actual parts of the mass like the Introit. If you asked any music director in one of these parishes today why they do not chant the Introit instead of that dumb hymn, they probably wouldn't know what you are talking about.
At EWTN they do not sing flighty hymns that talk of lush green hills and explain how Jesus is the King of the Light and other such new agey claptrap.
They wear beautiful vestments for the most part, the sacred trappings are lovely, the rubrics seem to be followed, and they veil the chalice. That's a big thing with me.
All in all I would be waaaaay happy if some of the priests in this diocese followed their lead. But they do not.
How's that?
