A Traditional Order Coming To America?

A big Obama shout-out to Catholic Caveman for posting this.

Cardinal Rigali, how about it? It's not like we couldn't use one or two...

A Traditional Order Coming To America?
We can only hope

I've just found out that the Institute of the Good Shepherd (l'Institut du Bon Pasteur) is looking into sending priests to the United States. Or as an unofficial IGS site states;
After our third anniversary, the IGS is considering to send priests in the USA for apostolate. One of them Fr Beaugrand have made many contacts since he's frequently travelling to the USA but still looking for help!
This is big news, folks. Especially in light of the pathetically high number of "priestless parishes" here in the United States. What bishop wouldn't leap to have one or two gems like these priests fall into their lap?

And we're not talking about some fishing expedition to your garden variety 3d World dung-heap to offer a failing seminarian a chance at ordination if he'll just pledge obedience to some Yanqui bishop.

No... these IGS priests are sharp! Pass the word, guys. Make it known to your bishop that the IGS WANTS to send them priests!

Let's see just how many bishops really do support The Holy Father's recent motu proprio... and just how many are just paying lip service. Believe me, if I ever catch wind of a bishop turning down Traddie priests, rest assured, I'll make sure the entire world knows about it.

Bet your paycheck on it.

By the way, more info on the IGS (IBP) can be found here.

Washington Shall Control Your Healthcare

I'm a blogging fool tonight. Just a plain fool, some of you would say.

But here's an article I found on health care. Made me laugh, made me cry.

Washington 'Shall' Control Your Healthcare
By David Harsanyi

The King James version of the Bible runs more than 600 pages and is crammed with celestial regulations. Newton's Principia Mathematica distilled many of the rules of physics in a mere 974 pages.

Neither have anything on Nancy Pelosi's new fiendishly entertaining health-care opus, which tops 1,900 pages.

So curl up by a fire with a fifth of whiskey and just dive in.

But drink quickly. In the new world, your insurance choices will be tethered to decisions made by people with Orwellian titles ("1984" was only 268 pages!) like the "Health Choices Commissioner" or "Inspector General for the Health Choices Administration."

You will, of course, need to be plastered to buy Pelosi's fantastical proposition that 450,000 words of new regulations, rules, mandates, penalties, price controls, taxes and bureaucracy will have the transformative power to "provide affordable, quality health care for all Americans and reduce the growth in health care spending . . . ."

It's going to take some time to deconstruct this lengthy masterpiece, but as you flip through the pages of the House bill, you will notice the word "regulation" appears 181 times. "Tax" is there 214 times. "Fees," 103 times. As we all know, nothing says "affordability" like higher taxes and fees.

The word "shall" - as in "must" or "required to" - appears over 3,000 times. The word, alas, is never preceded by the patriotic phrase "mind our own freaking business." Not once.

To vote for the bill, a legislator must believe a $1 trillion price tag is "revenue neutral," or that it alleviates any of the pain higher costs bring to the average American. This would require alcohol.

Real competition, as far as anyone can tell, is antithetical to the authors of this bill. Remember, you can purchase oranges from Florida and whiskey from Kentucky, yet you're prohibited from buying health insurance from anywhere outside your state . . . so sayeth Nancy Pelosi.

Instead of creating a new market with interstate trade, what we get is the institution of the pleasant-sounding "Health Insurance Exchange," which exists, it seems, only to accommodate a non-competitive, government-run insurance option.

Now, finding a name for a state-run program without offending the lingering capitalistic sensibilities of bourgeoisie has been problematic. So Pelosi went with the innocuous "consumer option" - known for a fleeting moment as the "competitive option" and popularly as the "public option." Whatever your preference is, it's the option that leads to a single-payer insurance program.

Democrats say we can save billions by funding a plan that uses billions of wasted tax dollars from another public plan that we already supplement with billions. Make sense?

In actuality, we pay for all this by "cost sharing," or "sharing the cost" of insuring everyone through higher prices and taxes. But no fear. The legislation taxes "the rich." The bill doesn't index the tax to inflation so more of you will be on the hook as inflation rises due to the tragically irresponsible behavior of Congress and the White House. The rich - many of them small-business owners - are already set to see their rates go up in 2010.

Hey, who needs those jerks to create real jobs when we have Washington pretending to do it?

All of this, as Madame Speaker says, constitutes a "a historic moment for our nation and families." True. No legislation in modern American history compares when in comes to injecting itself into the everyday decisions of the citizen.

And few can compete with its deception. The bill's intentions are cloaked in euphemisms and it is teeming with ulterior motives, all cobbled together in closed-door meetings where industry payoffs are offered using taxpayer dollars to facilitate a power grab of unprecedented cost.

All of it, rolled right into a neat 1,900 pages.

Killer For Islam

He handed out Korans? But didn't what he read in the Book of Peace make him think that he shouldn't go through with the massacre?

Or maybe he read that Paradise was guaranteed to those who "kill and are killed" for Allah (9:111), and took that seriously.

Note also that he affected Islamic clothing -- as did another "moderate," Maher Hawash, before the latter embarked upon his jihad.

"Police raid shooting suspect's Killeen apartment," by Victor O'Brien for the Killeen Daily Herald, November 6 (thanks to Ernest):

Bell County SWAT teams barricaded and evacuated a downtown Killeen apartment complex where Maj. Nidal Malik Hasan lived before authorities say he killed 13 people and injured 30 more during a massacre at Fort Hood Thursday....

In the morning, neighbors said Hasan handed Qurans and donated his furniture to anyone who would take it.

Neighbors described Hasan as a quiet man who began wearing "Arabic clothing" in recent weeks. Edward Windsor, a neighbor, never suspected Hasan was in the Army. Hasan's rank surprised Windsor who would never have imagined an officer with a rank of major would have lived in an apartment that rents for $350 and houses soldiers ranked as private first class....

Thanks to JihadWatch for this

Meet The Victim - Islamic Terrorist Hasan

Of course the main stream media is quick to play dirtbag terrorist Hasan as the victim in all of this.

Liberal Diane Sawyer and the rest of these 'journalists' have constantly stressed the possibilty PTSD for Hasan. He has never served overseas. Never. Not once. PTSD is a non-issue.

Let's try to remember the true victims, the dead and wounded of Fort Hood, not this muslim terrorist.

Hasan Claims "War on Islam"

Islamic jihadists routinely characterize anti-terror efforts as part of a "war on Islam." But of course, there is no war on terror, and there is no war on Islam. There is just the Islamic jihad against the U.S. and the West.

"Hasan Called War on Terror 'War Against Islam,' Classmate Says," by Justin Blum for Bloomberg, November 6:
Nov. 6 (Bloomberg) -- Major Nidal Malik Hasan, the Army psychiatrist accused of killing 13 people and wounding 30 others at the Fort Hood Army Base in Texas, regularly described the war on terror as "a war against Islam," according to a doctor who was in a graduate program with him.

While studying for a masters degree in public health in 2007, Hasan used a presentation for an environmental health class to argue that Muslims were being targeted by the U.S. anti-terror campaign, said Val Finnell, a classmate.

"He was very vocal about the war, very upfront about being a Muslim first and an American second," said Finnell, 41, a preventive medicine doctor in Los Angeles, in an interview today. "He was always concerned that Muslims in the military were being persecuted."...

Are Bedbugs The Same As Lice?

Eww. Wilkes-Barre Housing says they have an epidemic of bed bugs in city housing. They say it is due to "international travel". That's liberal code for "dirty stinking immigrants who don't wash".

Read about it here.

If you see this bloke, kill him quick! God'll forgive ya!

Nidal Malik Hasan

Nidal Malik Hasan.

Nidal Malik Hasan.

Nidal Malik Hasan.

Liberal Chris Matthews yesterday said the name was "arab sounding".

Ya think?

Liberal Diane Sawyer reported speaking to an unidentified 'army wife' who said "Why couldn't his name be Smith?" Apparently the 'army wife' was afraid that the army would begin profiling Muslims.

His name wasn't Smith.

It was Nidal. Malik. Hasan.

Nidal Malik Hasan has perpetrated the largest act of terrorism on American soil since 9/11.

But the liberal media will not call it terrorism.

Oh no.

If they did, then Comrade Obama would have been the seated President while the attack took place. And Muslims love Obama. He speaks their language. He thinks Muslims have been victims at American hands and American 'colonialism'. They would'nt attack Americas on American soil while he's President.

But if a white Christian shouted "Jesus Saves" before he started blowing people away, you can be sure the liberal media would have been all about the anti-christian sentiment. That's all we would be hearing.

But a Muslim comes in where soldiers are standing in a line to receive their shots to enage in a foreign war and shouts 'allahu akbar' - Allah is the greatest, and he starts blowing people away. But there is no mention of terrorism. There is not even the mention of a hate crime being perpetrated. Nothing. Just a criminal act.

I pray to God the truth comes out about this Muslim and his associations before the political correctness league gets a hold of it and decides in the best interest of the country not to release the information. Because you know, it would be a terrible shame if Muslims were thoguht to be terrorists again. Because, you know, Obama and his liberal gang have spent alot of time trying to convince the American people we are not at war with Muslims.

But we are.

And we will be for a long time.

House Call

Thousands of American patriots descended upon Capital Hill and their representatives today to demand they "kill the bill". The health care bill, that is. Kudos to all who participated.

The founders would be proud.

EWTN To Go Hi Def!

Now we can watch boring round table discussions and lackluster interviews while counting the pounds of makeup on Ray Arroyo. Good TV, that!

.- The Catholic broadcaster Eternal Word Television Network has announced that the channel will be available in High Definition (HD) format for all U.S. affiliates beginning on December 8.

“The Faith never looked so good!” an EWTN press release said.

“EWTN is the only Catholic television network available in this format,” EWTN President and CEO Michael P. Warsaw said. “We chose to launch HD in December so we could bring our viewers all the beautiful images of the Christmas season using the most advanced technology.

Warsaw said that the HD launch date of Dec. 8, the Feast of the Immaculate Conception, was chosen to honor the Virgin Mary who has “conveyed so many blessings upon this Network.”

EWTN Global Catholic Network has been in operation for 28 years. It is available in over 150 million households in more than 140 countries and territories. With AM and FM radio networks, a worldwide short-wave radio station, an internet website and a publishing arm, it claims to be the largest religious media network in the world.

Maybe Just One Of These?

I find it funny to hear democrat strategists on cable news shows talking about how the Republicans need to 'open the tent', or say how 'they need a bigger tent'.

Really democrat strategists? We should listen to you?

Michael 'there's room for everyone' Steele seems to be listening. GOP bosses all over the country have been practicing that strategy for some time now as well.

In actuality the tent has been open wide and what has it gotten us?

Dede Scozzofava, who received $900,000 from NRCC to run ads AGAINST the true conservative candidate.

Next, let's look quickly at some of the other RINO's we've endured under the big tent. Lindsey Graham who still wants to make all illegal aliens legal, Arnold Schwartzenegger who sends iou's instead of tax refunds, Tim Pawlenty who backs Cap and Trade, Arlen Spectre who not only changes his beliefs to win elections he now changes parties, Mitt Romney who gave Massachusetts Romneycare which is now bankrupting the state, Olympia Snowe who supports Obamacare, and of course, John freaking McCain.

If we were to score our party based on it's conservative outcome, the numbers would be abyssmal , I'm afraid.

We've tried the big tent idea. It's not working for us.

Let's try principal for a change.

Milz: Kicked To The Curb!

I have never been a fan of SDACT cheerleader and big boss man Mikey Milz, and yesterday he received a well deserved smackdown. As Ralph Cramden would say "Oh, how sweet it is!"

A union leader laid off from his teaching job at a Catholic high school last summer during a battle over official recognition and collective bargaining powers was considered an "at-will employee" and cannot pursue a wrongful termination lawsuit against the Diocese of Scranton, Luzerne County Judge Peter Paul Olszewski Jr. ruled Monday.

Michael Milz, president of the Scranton Diocese Association of Catholic Teachers, sued the diocese and his former employer, Holy Redeemer High School in Wilkes-Barre, claiming they targeted him for layoff in June 2008 because of his union activity.

Diocese spokesman Bill Genello said the diocese was "pleased with this decision." Genello rejected the claim that the layoff was a form of retribution.

"As was stated at the time of the teacher layoffs, neither Mr. Milz nor anyone else was fired," Genello said. "The layoffs were determined strictly according to the criteria used in previous years."

Those criteria included a teacher's seniority and level of certifications, Genello said.

A Spiritual Conversion

It is election day, people. Do not forget when making your decisions at the polls today to exercise your "choice" and vote for Pro-Life candidates.

The former director of a Planned Parenthood clinic in southeast Texas says she had a "change of heart" after watching an abortion last month — and she quit her job and joined a pro-life group in praying outside the facility.

Abby Johnson, 29, used to escort women from their cars to the clinic in the eight years she volunteered and worked for Planned Parenthood in Bryan, Texas. But she says she knew it was time to leave after she watched a fetus "crumple" as it was vacuumed out of a patient's uterus in September.

'When I was working at Planned Parenthood I was extremely pro-choice," Johnson told FoxNews.com. But after seeing the internal workings of the procedure for the first time on an ultrasound monitor, "I would say there was a definite conversion in my heart ... a spiritual conversion."

Not Another One?

Excuse my language here on my catholic blog, but WTF?

Do us all a favor Scranton Diocese priests: if you just cant do without your gay photographs, just leave the priesthood and stop being such freakish hypocrites, ok?

SCRANTON — An area priest has been removed from his duties after church officials say he accidentally displayed inappropriate pictures from his computer before Sunday Mass.

The Diocese of Scranton said the Rev. Edward Lyman was using his computer on Oct. 25 to project an informational DVD about the annual diocesan fundraiser when four photos were displayed. They featured what church officials describe as “minimally attired adult males.”

Diocese spokesman William Genello said the photos were not pornographic, did not include minors and were not taken by the priest.

Lyman has been removed as administrator of St. Anthony, St. Bridget and St. John the Baptist parishes in Throop. The diocese would not say where he is.
