Not Another One?

Excuse my language here on my catholic blog, but WTF?

Do us all a favor Scranton Diocese priests: if you just cant do without your gay photographs, just leave the priesthood and stop being such freakish hypocrites, ok?

SCRANTON — An area priest has been removed from his duties after church officials say he accidentally displayed inappropriate pictures from his computer before Sunday Mass.

The Diocese of Scranton said the Rev. Edward Lyman was using his computer on Oct. 25 to project an informational DVD about the annual diocesan fundraiser when four photos were displayed. They featured what church officials describe as “minimally attired adult males.”

Diocese spokesman William Genello said the photos were not pornographic, did not include minors and were not taken by the priest.

Lyman has been removed as administrator of St. Anthony, St. Bridget and St. John the Baptist parishes in Throop. The diocese would not say where he is.

leviticus 20:13 :"And if a man lie with mankind, as with womankind, both of them have committed abomination: they shall surely be put to death; their blood shall be upon them."

The church is totally Disgusting and Hypocrital, after all these years, the same stuff keeps repeating itself over and over. And they wonder WHY people are leaving in droves. If anyone gives to the Annual Appeal you are just being a FOOL.You are just wasting your money and time supporting this organization.I am sick of the whole church. Count me out,and I never thought I would say that, but with the pattern that has emerged the last 30 years and no end in site, and with the way they have done the school and church closing process, yet they seem to have money to pay for treatment programs and they have money to form and support the new hispanic ministries, and I will no longer be a part of or support the church and the diocese.

I can't help but wonder what the former bishop thinks of Misericordia's Diversity Institute now!! Sure, homosexuality is WRONG, but the former bishop was like the "pot calling the kettle black".

Sir Rockin One:

What can I say? Aside from the poster Karen, who though is right to be upset, I simply take issue with her misdirected anger. The closing of schools and chuches have nothing to do with this. SIN is the problem!

All I can say is to thank God that the Church does not rise and fall with us priests! If it did, it would not have lasted beyond the first century.

Wait what. Did he intentionally display them or did they just kind of show up accidentally because he had them on file? If it's the latter, give him a break. It's not our job to throw stones. Now if he was showing them to kiddies or something weird, that would warrant more outrage (although that's still stone throwing I guess. But you know. Just having pictures on his computer for himself isn't harming anyone else, although it isn't 'pure' like a priest should be. Showing them to minors is harmful and illegal I think.)

*yawns* But maybe that's just me. I don't see the gravity of this one, unless like I said, he was showing these images to non-willing participants on purpose or something.
