It Is Almost Soon

For those of you wondering whether it is 'soon' yet, it is.

Almost.

For those of you who are new and haven't read down aways, I reported here that a Traditional Mass will once again be offered in Wilkes-Barre.

What I can say is that a Diocesan priest who will be trained by the Priestly Fraternity of Saint Peter will offer the Mass at Saint Patrick's in Wilkes-Barre. Remember this post? Thanks to prayers, the Holy Spirit proves he can soften hearts.

We are hoping to have a meeting this Monday evening to iron out details, and then I will be able to give you all a proper post on the subject.

In the meantime, it would be nice to show our gratitude if you would call Saint Patrick's and thank Father McGahagan for allowing us to use the beautiful church at 823-1948. If you are in the Diocese and haven't visited Saint Pat's, stop in. It's gorgeous.

I know this sounds funny coming from someone at a Slovak Parish, but how do you pronounce his name? I don't want to botch a thank you.

Traddy, thats good news for those who used to go to Holy Rosary. Also, thanks to the pastor for his change of heart. However, the few time I have been down there St. Pats, Maternity, holy trinity are always locked. On another subject whats happening in Pittston regarding the former SJB property???

Regards,
Jackson

Christian - Mcgaygan would be the phonetical way to say it I believe. Although it could be mcgayhagan also. But as far as I know it is the former.

Well I thanked him. Caught him by surprise I think, and I was as gracious as I could be.

Christian - Was he appreciative? Did he ask you any questions?

Well, Let me characterize my impression of him as being in a hurry, or busy or something. I did about 99% of the talking. He answered the phone and Said, 'St. Patricks, Parish, Fr MgGahagan"
I intorduced myself, and said I hear that he had recently deiced to allow a TLM in the church, and that I wanted to take the opportunity to thank him for that. I said I and my family (well me anyway) have felt drawn to it but have not had the opportunity to experience it, and to do so in such a beautiful church would be marvelous. So thanks again..
and before I could quite finish my final round of thanks, he said, "OK, Thank you." I think I hung up first, for the record. It was a little awkward, and I think he was really in a rush and definitely caught by surprise.

Jackson - They are knocking it down. I was there Sunday, posted on it too. I can only imagine it must all be gone by now. Terrible.
