Bishop Traddy?

After much debate and personal reflection, I have decided to run a write-in campaign for the vacant Bishop seat we currently have in the Diocese. If someone is interested in the Auxiliary Bishop spot, let me know and we can run as a team.

If you vote for me, I will make all priests wear cassocks. No more short sleeve shirts with tab collars. They can get much further with the Lord if they learn not to offend his eyes.

If you vote for me, I will close any church that remotely resembles a Pizza Hut.

If you vote for me, I will take the money from the Annual Appeal, buy the building Planned Parenthood operates from, and evict them. We can do this continually every year just to piss them off.

That's just a starting place. I have plenty more ideas if you vote me.

Remember on Tuesday, Vote Traddy For Bishop!

I want in as your Auxiliary. I will take all offensive music, and instruments, and other flammable crap and use it for this years Vigil Fire in the Extraordinary Form of the Latin Rite

If you like cassocks so much why didn't you become a priest and wear one? For a lay person you seem to give a lot of orders to priests. Catholicism is top-down, not bottom up.

Sir Rockin One:

How about I be your running mate?

However, I want to know what you are going to do about the school situation. I don't know what the answer is, but whatever is proposed as a solution better have "To lower parish assessments SUBSTANTIALLY (substantially being the operative word) and make the schools more self sufficient" as part of it.

So, if you are agreed, and you will have me, put me in as your running mate and together we will keep dreaming.

While we are dreaming, will you ban all "Gather" hymnals and breaking bread hymnals, and all Haugen Dass/Glory and Praise/ Saint Louis Jesuits music from the Diocese? Please?

Sir Rockin One:

Sorry, I can't go with you on the Cassock bit.

I wear black clerical shirts, blue ones, blue and white striped ones with a full collar. I like them becasue they are classy.

So I can't go with you on the Cassock thing.

NEPA - I wear a cassock when I blog. I'm wearing it now. What do you think about that?

Bechtel - You're in. You can handle the schools. You'll need to find an order of traddy nuns to come in and teach these kids, they need a good old fashioned knuckle-rapping...

CUA - Sorry about the Aux. Bishop thing. But you can be my MC AND oversee the tradification of our once glorious cathedral. How 'bout that?

Father - I'm gonna assume you were joshing and just go - lol!

It would be really keen if you wore the liturgical colors as well - perhaps with matching shoes.

Sir Rockin One,

No, I am sorry to dissapoint, but I DO wear blue and blue and white striped clerical shirts with the full collar from time to time. Most of the time I wear black, but sometimes I wear blue, and blue and white striped shirts. You may disagree, but I believe they look classy.

I don't begruge a priest who wants to wear a cassock, but Sir Rockin One- I don't even OWN one! As soon as I graduated from Saint Charles Borremeo, I got rid of mine.

A good quality cassock is expensive, and I have better things to spend 500 dollars besides a Cassock. A good quality surplice will cost another 100 dollars. None of this includes the cost of the "belt" you know- the thing that goes around your waste-(I forget the name of it) The one I had at Saint Charles was a cheap altar server kind of garment- so was the surplice. so it was not worth keeping when I graduated.

Oi vay. I was certain you were joking. I may have to rethink you as my running mate.

If you allow communion to be gluten-free I'll vote for you. But I know that would just go against your traditional core. *sniffle* Besides I doubt a bishop would have that power ANYWAY!!! *storms out of room*

Traddy, you have my vote if you'll agree to take all offensive language, esp. when it comes to music, out of our culture. Also, since we are against the killing of innocent children, might I propose that we do away with the death penalty? Give hardened criminals hard labor, with no time served for good behavior. Teach more of the fundamentals like the Beatitudes, the Ten Commandments, etc. Life is too short; we must learn to love one another as Jesus has loved us.If you think it's worth a shot, you have my vote.

Traddy, Elaine again. I forgot one. If you become Bishop, make sure ALL people are trained the right way to treat not only their fellow human beings, but also our furry friends. They are also a precious gift from God to be cared for and teasured.

Traddy- I would LOVE to be your MC. I will start on your new cathedral, and other liturgical norms, if that would make you happy.

What's wrong with the cathedral?

What's wrong with the cathedral? Really?

Sir Rockin One:

The only possible problem I can see you have with the Cathedral is the placement of the Tabernacle.

However please keep in mind that in the Pre-Vatican II Church, and especilaly in the Churches in Europe, the Tabernacle was never in the middle at Cathedrals. The bishop is the fullness of the priesthood, and the bishop represents Christ. When a bishop would come to a church in the old days, they would remove the Eucharist from the Tablernacle and place it somewhere else.

Now Sir Rockin One, I am not one of those liberal wacko's that wants to run and take Jesus out of the center. In fact I believe He should be in the center- where possible. I am not about to redesign churches not designed to have Tabernacles in the center however. I will always work to ensure Jesus is in the center.

However, at the same time I am also practical. The Cathedral is no longer designed to have the Tabernacle in the center and it would take a lot of work to re-design it, not to mention money. It is not like in my former assignment (Saint Matthew's) where all you would have to do is literally make use of the center tabernacle, with little re-design, money, etc. and move the celebrants chair to the side.
